Where I learned to make promo art.

I had a lot of people asking me yesterday on Twitter how I made the arrow promo ad for my books (or whatever you’re supposed to call them) so I thought I would share in the hopes that it helps others make their promos!

I’m generally not very good with graphics and promo art so I’m really glad I found a programme that’s so easy – for me – to use. I’ve heard a lot of great things about other popular sites, but I found that Adobe Spark (now Adobe Express, I think) is the one I keep coming back to. So that’s what I used! It’s very user-friendly in my experience and it only took me a couple of hours to make the promos which, given how little I know about making graphics, shows how easy I found it to use. (Bear in mind that I’ve had other programmes for years and could not figure out how to make pretty graphics.)

My advice would be to make your first, duplicate it, and then work on improving the second. It really helped me see how much better my images got after a few tries.
